David Hamilton Rodgers was born July 28, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the fourth child of William Cleveland Rodgers and Jean Ann Watts Rodgers. He died in Tulsa on August 5, 2025, at the age of 69. He grew up in Tulsa with his parents and four siblings. He graduated from Memorial High School and attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. On October 6, 1979 he married Debra Lynn Tabor. They made their home in Tulsa and devoted themselves to raising their two sons, Michael and Kevin. He worked in the health care field for more than 35 years beginning at Saint Francis Hospital.

He loved spending time with his immediate and extended family including numerous cousins and his beloved grandparents, Marvin and Grace Watts. He particularly cherished the family trips each summer trout fishing at the Roaring River State Park in Missouri. He spent many pleasurable hours in family competitions ranging from fishing bragging rights to endless board and card games. He loved to share and listen to family stories. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time with his granddaughter, improving his golf game at Meadowbrook Country Club and taking vacation trips with his wife Debra. He never met a stranger and was happy to talk and laugh with anyone with an ear to listen. He was authentic.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mark Rodgers. He is survived by: his wife of forty-five years, Debra Lynn Rodgers; two sons, Michael David Rodgers and Kevin Lee Rodgers; granddaughter, Athena Rebecca Rodgers; brothers and sister-in law, Bill and Debbie Rodgers, and Doug Rodgers; sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Kade McClure; niece, Carrie Ann Rodgers; nephews, Clint Rodgers, Travis Rodgers and Jake McClure.

A viewing and memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Moore Southlawn Chapel Funeral Home, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends at the viewing from 9:00 until 11:30 a.m. The memorial service will begin at 12pm.
