David Eston Self, age 70, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on February 6, 2026. He was born on June 22, 1955, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
David was a man of deep faith, lifelong learning, and steadfast devotion to his family. In 1997, he married the love of his life, Sue, and together they built a life rooted in commitment, perseverance, and shared faith.
He was a devoted father and grandfather who took great pride in his children and found deep joy in the generations that followed.
David's spiritual journey shaped much of his life. From 1974 to 1984, he was a member of the United Pentecostal Church (UPC), serving as an evangelist throughout Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. He furthered his ministry training by attending Bible college at PBI. His commitment to faith continued throughout his life, and in 2015 he joined the Acts Christian Network (ACN) under the leadership of Bishop Jim Baker in Mesquite, Texas. Never one to stop growing, David pursued further education and, in 2023, earned an associate degree in Chaplaincy through GPS Ministries, under the guidance of Dr. Louis Green in Compton, Louisiana.
In 1997, David also became a licensed Bail Bond Agent in the state of Oklahoma, a profession he carried out with integrity and determination.
David is survived by his wife, Sue; his sons, Anthony David Self, Andrew Dustin Self and wife Stephanie, and Russ Keck; his daughters, Tommie Voss and Jackie Fowler; his brothers, Jack Self, WL Self, and Carl Self; his sister, Janet Carroll; his grandchildren, Ian Self, Brian Self, Gemma Self, Kyle Keck, and Bronson French; and his great-grandchildren, Cayden Rowell, Evan French, and Rory French.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Edna; his brother, Darryl Self; and his sister, Helen France.
David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to service, his love of learning, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His legacy lives on through the family he loved and the many lives he touched.
