David Michael Steiger, 80, died at home in Tulsa on October 19, 2025 after a brief illness. David was a native Oklahoman, born in Bartlesville on June 27, 1945 and graduated from College High School. David served in the United States Navy Oceanography Department at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia for four years. He received a bachelor of science in electrical engineering and a master of business administration from the University of Texas at Austin and began his corporate life at Bell Labs in New Jersey and later at Cities Service Company in Tulsa. At age 50, he earned a PhD in Management Information Systems from Oklahoma State University. He found his true calling as a teacher, and researcher; and was an instructor at Tulsa University, a professor at East Carolina University, the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and the University of Maine. David was a life-long athlete and loved swimming, soft ball, tennis, racquetball, and pickleball. He was also the designated family cookie baker. Camping in the mountains and visiting wineries were his favorite vacation activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Louise Steiger, and sister Jo Ann Jones. He is survived by his wife Natalie Miller Steiger, children Rebecca Steiger of Tulsa and Benjamin Steiger of Oklahoma City, and sisters Janet Addison of Lorena, Texas and Judy Howard of Oklahoma City.

His memorial service is Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home, Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145.
