David D. Thayer, of Tulsa, died peacefully and surrounded by family on November 25, 2022; he was 84. David was born December 3, 1937 in Wichita, KS to Chester Donald Thayer and Anna Mae Catherine (McPherson) Thayer. He married his high school sweetheart, Anna Laura Hart, who preceded him in death in 2010.

David worked for many years as a computer programmer for Tulsa Adjustment Bureau. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and attended the University of Tulsa where he was on the football team.

He is survived by his children Karie Lee duBois, Kelly Thayer, Donnie Thayer, and Michael Thayer and a brother, Michael J. Thayer. David was also blessed with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He excelled in sports in his hometown of Blackwell, OK. In 1955 he was awarded National High School All America Football Team honors by the Wigwam Wisemen of America. David was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He coached his children's many youth athletic teams and enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at Moore Southlawn Chapel with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
