DAVID ALLAN WARREN
December 20, 1929 - November 3, 2023

David Allan Warren of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died from Alzheimer's Disease on November 3, 2023 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. David was born in Flint, Michigan to Eric and Agnes (Allan) Warren, the firstborn of 6 children. While still young, the family moved to Ann Arbor where David attended Ann Arbor Public Schools. Prior to graduation David joined the Air Force and graduated from Radio Mechanics School and obtained his GED. After graduation he taught new recruits mathematics and electronics. Upon leaving the service he returned to Ann Arbor to work in his father's business, Warren Radio, repairing radios and televisions. It was in Ann Arbor where David met his future wife Viola (Boda) Warren while on his work break at a local drugstore. They met in March 1952 and married October 18 of that year. They bought a newly built house in Ypsilanti, Michigan and together raised 8 children. David attended night school, studying to become an Electrical Engineer and moved to Tulsa, OK after collaborating on the design of a pipeline pig. From Tulsa, he transferred to Houston, Texas, continuing to work in engineering of non-destructive testing devices. When the economic crash occurred in the early 80's, he and Viola moved back to Ann Arbor, MI, where David worked at the U of M in the electrical maintenance department, retiring in 1996 and moving back to Tulsa, OK to be near their children.
David had many interests: bowling, golf, chess, listening to music (particularly Classical and Big Band). He was an avid reader and kept up on current events and the latest technology. David loved to cook, trying new recipes and baking sourdough bread. David, along with Viola, sang in their church choir for many years. When Viola became ill with Alzheimer's disease, David cooked and became her caretaker until she passed.
David is predeceased in death by his wife Viola, his sons: Eric C and Robert J, his parents, his sisters: Margaret Cole and Audrey Gray, and brother: James Warren.
