David Lee Ecton, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2023 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Born March 16, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama to Raymond and Jenny Pearl (Keefover) Ecton, his family moved to Oklahoma in 1947. He attended Central High School in Tulsa. At the age of 17, Dave joined the United States Marine Corp. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, mastered in shooting, traveled the world and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He joined the Los Angeles Police Department where he served for 6 years.

Dave returned to Oklahoma and began a career in sales, specializing in products for the oil and gas industry. He eventually opened his own company, Analytical Plus. Following the company's closure, Dave and Fran moved to South Carolina for several years, eventually returning to Oklahoma.

Family was everything to Dave. He met the love of his life, Frances Carrier, when he was 5 years old. Together, they raised 3 children, Steve, Tracey and John and their granddaughter, Nicole. He found the most joy in attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals and various other activities. He was his family's biggest cheerleader and constant support. He was incredibly proud of his grandchildren, lighting up when they were around and bragging to everyone he met about their accomplishments.

After suffering a massive heart attack at age 67, Dave retired and spent his time with Fran. He suffered multiple health setbacks in the years to follow, including cancer, a stroke and open heart surgery. His stubbornness, strength and will to survive helped him overcome each health obstacle he faced.

Dave was a friend, father figure, and an example of strength and love to so many. His
welcoming personality, ability to tell a story, and genuine laugh made him loved by everyone who knew him. His family is so thankful for the memories they have of him and know he will be missed more than he could ever know.

David was preceded in death by his son, Steve Ecton, his grandson, Aaron Welch, and his parents. His life will forever be cherished by his surviving family: his beautiful wife, Frances of Tulsa; his daughter, Tracey Welch of Tulsa; his son, John Ecton (Angela) of Chapin, SC; his grandchildren, Nicole Kuck (Michael) of Jenks; Krysten Taylor of Bartlesville; Taylor Ecton (Amber) of Broken Arrow; Lane Ecton of Atlanta, GA; Kyle Ecton of Columbia, SC; and his 7 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Kylee, Adlee, Charlee, Norah, Lydia and Easton.

Funeral Services will be 3PM, Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Bixby Free Will Baptist Church, 15801 South Memorial Drive, Bixby, Oklahoma.
