Obituary

Debora Jan Leppelmeier was born on November 24, 1956 in Flushing, NY to her parents Robert and Nancy Leppelmeier. Debora grew up in North Babylon, attended Woods Road Elementary School, and graduated from North Babylon Senior High School.

Debora was an amazing baseball fan and in 1969, her team the New York Mets won the World Series, of which Debora could name all 25 players! Debora loved playing her guitar and would play weekly with her dad while he played the piano.

Debora was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Babylon, NY, where she regularly volunteered in the children's nursery, and played her guitar there as well. Debbie remembered ALL of her friends' and family members' (and some famous people) birthdays and anniversaries, and wrote them cards yearly. Debora even received cards from Johnny Cash and Tom Seaver.

Debora's father was a career Pan American Airlines employee, and she travelled to England, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Norway, and Brazil. Debora was a regular participant in Special Olympics, as well as enjoying bowling, and riding horses.

Debbie's parents made sure she attended Camp Horizons in Connecticut annually regardless of the cross-country trip from California, and Debora loved every minute!

Debora had a gentle spirit, and it meant so much to her that she asked the Lord Jesus into her heart as a child. Her loving heart enabled her to love the unlovable and the difficult people. She loved everyone.

Debbie was CRAZY about each of her eight nieces and nephews. Debora is survived by her mother Nancy Leppelmeier of Tulsa, OK; her sister Barbara Davis of Tulsa, OK; her brothers David Leppelmeier of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Roger Leppelmeier of Collinsville, OK. Debora is preceded in death by her father Robert Leppelmeier.

Debora touched each of our lives, and we are sure that she is in Heaven wearing a bright orange #21 Tom Seaver Mets Jersey, talking baseball with her dad, and has never been happier!

There will be a small family memorial service for Debora.
