On September 29th, 2023, Deborah Sue Pettus, age 56, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Debbie is now rejoicing with her parents Robert and Brenda Lotero in heaven. She is survived by her husband Matt Pettus as they enjoyed 37 great years of marriage. She is also survived by her three children: Nathan Pettus, Natalie Pettus, and Nick Pettus as well as two grandchildren: Blakely and Blaire Pettus.

Deb was a 1985 graduate of Collinsville High School. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from the University of Tulsa in 1989. In addition to loving her husband and children she also had a passion for teaching her students, which she did successfully for over 20 years and impacted the lives of many people. Debbie took pride in everything she did including being a master gardener, successful business owner, and being a two-time teacher of the year.

Throughout Deb's battle with cancer, she developed supportive relationships within the treatment community. She inspired many people and developed a love of sound bowl meditation that prolonged her quality of life. She was a free-spirited woman who lived her life to the fullest and never turned down an opportunity for a spontaneous adventure.

Her legacy and memories will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with, and we invite you to come share your stories of remembrance at visitation on Tuesday October 3rd from 10am-8pm. Family will be available for visitation from 4pm-6pm. Memorial service will be Wednesday October 4th at 10am. Both will be held at Moore Funeral Home 9350 E 51st St, Tulsa, OK 74145.
