Obituary

Delores Wallace Seale, known affectionately to everyone as De De, was called by God and promoted to Heaven on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the age of 88. De De was born in 1935 to George W. Wallace, Sr. and Vivian Simpson Wallace. She was a Tulsan through and through and never considered the thought of living anywhere else. She was a proud member of the Tulsa Central High School Class of '53 and furthered her education at Oklahoma State University, before marrying the love of her life, Robert Lee Seale in 1955. They were married for 46 wonderful years before his death in 2000.

Bob and De De were the successful business owners of a small copier and toner supply business, WordCom, together with their son, Larry Seale, for over 50 years. WordCom provided many Tulsans and University of Tulsa students with employment from 1969 until closing its doors in 2023.

De De is survived by two children, Larry Seale and his wife, Myrna, of Tulsa, and Mindy Seale Espey and her husband, Tanner, of South Carolina. Her grandchildren are Megan Seale (Austin, TX), Robert Espey and his wife Leslie (Augusta, GA), and Brendan Espey and his wife Courtney (Atlanta, GA). She has two great grandchildren, Maddox Espey and Phoenix Conchola. She is also survived by her loving sister in law, Linda Wallace, her two cousins, Sallye Harris and Carolyn Stuart, and nieces and nephews, Mark and Maribeth Dean, Vivian and Bruce Carper, Lisa Hendricks, and Debbie Hendricks Benton.

Family and faith were extremely important to De De. She was an associate member of Berachah Church in Houston, Texas, with close ties throughout the Christian non-denominational Bible churches in Tulsa. She loved Bible class and rarely missed an opportunity to study God's Word. De De grew up in a lively home that was full of people, good cooking, and excitement. She had the uncanny ability to light up any room that she entered. It is an understatement to say she was the life of the party as well as the 'hostess with the mostess.' Many friends and neighbors all came to De De's - she was a magnet to all with a quick wit and joyful optimism. De De was a fiercely loyal friend and was blessed with many long-lasting friendships throughout her life.

De De was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Seale, as well as her four siblings, Joan Wallace Dean, George Wallace Jr., Robert Wallace, and Marcia Wallace Hendricks.

De De was a very good athlete and loved sports of all kinds. She was a firm believer in high heels and lipstick and was known for her bright red curly hair and infectious smile. She loved coffee 24 hours a day, feeding the hundreds of squirrels that loved her, Perry Mason on METV at 11 pm, and driving her friends to see the sights of Tulsa. She snow skiied for the first time at the age of 50 in the German Alps, never missed the Tulsa State Fair and the Fourth of July fireworks, and delighted in cooking chicken fried steak and gravy for her kids. She experienced a business dinner at the Russian Embassy in Washington, DC, enjoyed Palm Sunday at Sacre Coeur Cathedral in Paris, and went to the Miss America Pageant for seven years in a row with her husband and closest friends in Atlantic City. For being a 'homegirl,' she did love to travel! But Tim's Diner (formerly Phill's) was her go to and she held court there for many years with family and friends on a regular basis. She cheered for OU, loved to ride horses in her youth, ice skated well into her 50s, and adored her dogs in succession - Wrinkles, Rocky, Higgins, and Alfie.

Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home will host a viewing from 12-8 pm on Sunday, October 20. The family will be present from 2-4 pm. Her celebration memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, officiated by Pastor Drue Freeman. We will miss her so. Heaven just got a little more glorious!
