Hawley, Delsie Marie, 92, died Saturday, May 30, 2015. Delsie was born August 15, 1922, in Pineville, Arkansas to Arville Bell & Fannie (Wood) Marchant. She was the oldest of five children.
Delsie worked for many years at Elders Manufacturing in Dexter. She was a gifted seamstress and loved to make clothing and quilt tops. She was an avid gardner and loved to cook. She loved life on the farm and resided there most of her adult life.
Delsie (Marchant) married Lowell S. Hawley in 1943 and had two children, Jerry and LaJuana.
Delsie is survived by her children and spouses: Jerry Hawley, his wife, Mary Ann; LaJuana Moore, her husband, Charles. Grandchildren: Tracy Moore Farris; Dr. Michael Hawley, his wife, Rachel; Karen Hawley; great-grandchildren: Emily & Tory.
Also survived by: sister, Velma Beardsley; brother, Cecil Marchant and his wife, Wanda; sister, Carole Hensley and her husband, Wayne.
Delsie is preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; her brother, Cyril Marchant and his wife, Dorothy; brother, Carl Wayne Marchant; daughter-in-law, Lee Hawley.
Visitation 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Service 1:30 P.M., Wednesday all at the First General Baptist Church, Dexter, MO. Her lifelong friend, Pastor Kenneth Biggs, officiating. Interment will follow at Dexter Cemetery. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233. Share memories at
