Dennis Gene Padgett was born November 11, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He passed away on October 15, 2022.
Dennis grew up in the Tulsa area and graduated from Will Rogers High school in 1964 where he met his high school sweetheart, Linda Shelby, who eventually took his last name and hand in marriage for 50 years prior to her losing a battle with cancer on July 6, 2015.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Nolan Padgett; his mother, Viola Padgett; and his older brothers, Frank Ash and Ronnie Kelly.
Dennis is survived by his son, Rod Padgett and Rod's wife Lisa Padgett; their children (his grandchildren) Courtney Meadows, Brandon Padgett, and Ryan Padgett. He also leaves behind his daughter, Angie Anderson and granddog, Oliver. Last, but most certainly not least, he is survived by his VERY beloved K9 companion of the past 7 years...

In his younger days, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the stock car races with his older brothers. After starting a family, Dennis enjoyed going to car shows with Linda, going to the lake and camping with the whole family, going to rodeos with them, and also going to various racing events with them. Dennis was also a huge fan of sports. He loved rooting for OU & his favorite NASCAR drivers.
He was employed by Penwell Publishing for the Oil & Gas Journal over 25 years as a Lead Pressman before the printing division was liquidated. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18, 2022, 2pm-8pm. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in the Moore Southlawn Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
