Dewey L. Davis, 78, of 204 S.74th E. Ave., Tulsa, OK, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 8, 1977, from lung cancer. At the time of his death, Dewey was residing at Four Seasons Nursing Home, Tulsa, OK. He was born on May 8, 1898, in Stotts City, MO, to Logan Davis and Elizabeth (Goggin) Davis. He was proud to have served as a Fireman 2nd Class in the United States Navy in World War I. A Tulsa resident since about 1919, Dewey had worked for the fire department 34 years. At the time of his retirement in 1958, he was a Captain. Dewey was a member of Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church, and also a member of the Petroleum Masonic Lodge, 474. He is survived by his wife, Eunice M. (Baldwin) Davis of the home; a number of nieces and nephews; many brother fire fighters; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dewey will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
