Obituary

Dolores was born, Dolores Sabetta, in Cleveland, Ohio. She grew up in Cleveland and shared life with lots of family and close friends. In 1952 she married, Frank Zampino. After his return from Korea, they set out to fully establish their life as a married couple. There were many years of fun, laughter, and shenanigans together! In 1958 they adopted their daughter, Laura, and began learning about parenthood. In 1961, they adopted their son, Thomas, making a family of four. Dolores was an amazing wife and mother. She always put her family and home first and kept Laura and Tom busy with playtime, swimming lessons, arts and crafts at the park, and as they grew supporting all their chosen activities.
Dolores and her family built new lives in many places due to Frank's transfers with Cities Service Oil Company. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio, South Bend, Indiana, Tulsa, Oklahoma, South Weymouth, Massachusetts, and Stone Mountain, Georgia. In 1972, she and her family finally settled back in Tulsa, Oklahoma and never had to pack up and move again (Dolores was so thankful!!).
After putting her new home together, Dolores began settling into her life in Tulsa. She did so many things over the next 44 years in Tulsa. She learned to swim at the neighborhood pool, took various classes with her girl friends (including tap dancing in her 70's!) hosting parties, attending parties and functions with friends, and of course, raising teenagers into adults! Dolores loved social gatherings, loved music, and dancing. In fact, dancing the Jitterbug at a party resulted in a knee injury! She planned both Laura and Tom's weddings and welcomed 3 grandchildren, who she loved to dote on and spoil. Life eventually led her to her grand children's weddings and her 3 beautiful great grandchildren. She spent 32 years as a widow, after losing her husband, Frank, in 1985.
In her later years, although slowing down, Dolores still remained as active as possible. She volunteered at Church of the Resurrection, spent time with family and friends, and always had a smile for everyone.
Over the last couple years as her health declined, Dolores never stopped smiling and enjoying what she could.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank M Zampino and her parents James and Josephine Sabetha. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Angros of Oklahoma City, sister-in-law, Joanne Manzo of Cleveland, Ohio. Her son Thomas M Zampino and wife Laurie, her daughter, Laura A Hyatt and husband Randy, of Tulsa. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Licia Marie Sorrentino, Anthony A Zampino and Michael J Zampino (Laura's son) and her 3 great grandchildren, Sophia, Margaret, and Eleanor. nieces and nephews Mark, Caryn, Lee, David and Michael. great nieces and nephews Hannah, Liam, Mila and Marco.
