Donald Lee "Don" Carolan passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014. He was 78. Visitation is set for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. Both are at Moore Funeral Home's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St.
Don was born Nov. 30, 1936 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Seab and Clara Carolan. In 1957, he was introduced to Joann by her brother-in-law, which is what started his journey into the wonderful, strong and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In 1984, Don opened D&L Automotive in Tulsa, which he owned until retirement in 2007. He and his wife Joann lived in Claremore after retirement. Despite always working, it never got in the way of quality family time, playing catch in the backyard, coaching his kids� sports team, trekking out for a hunting trip or just being there to play. He was a generous and loving man that he poured on those around him.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 57 years, Joann, of Claremore; a daughter Cheryl Logsdon of Claremore and a son, Terry Carolan of Bixby; four grandchildren: Darla Hess-Mabe, Makenzie Mabe, A.J. Carolan and Casey Carolan; and four great-grandchildren: Ethan Hess-Mabe, Jax Mabe, Kali Mabe and Lane Mabe. Don is preceded in death by a his parents and a daughter, Carol Ann Carolan.
