Obituary

Don Nelson VanDyne, 45, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Saturday, October 1, 1977, in Tulsa, OK. He was born on Monday, October 12, 1931, in Holdenville, OK, to Junior Ray VanDyne and Gladys M. (Hume) VanDyne. Don was an artist and owner of VanDyne Graphics, a member of the Art Directors Club of Tulsa, the Windy Crest Sailing Club and Asbury United Methodist Church. He also won the Fox River Bond Graphics award for the finest graphic design, twice in one year. He graduated from the Eastern Language School in Syracuse University, and from the University of Oklahoma. Don was proud to have served as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force in the Korean War, and was a Russian interpreter, while serving in West Germany. Don is survived by his wife, Nancy (Amos) VanDyne, of the home; 2 sons, Steve VanDyne and David VanDyne, both of the home; daughter, Susan VanDyne, of the home; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
