Don grew up in an oil field camp house in "Struggleville", suburb of the Cromwell, OK metropolis. The "Country Boy from Cromwell" learned quickly to make his own fun and developed his sense of humor. He joined the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1954 with a Business degree and was named the Air Force ROTC Distinguished Graduate.
Don met his wife Susie at OSU and were married for 68 years!! They had 2 children (Lisa and Stan), have 5 grandkids, and currently 5 great grandkids. Don loved on his family with fun family trips & holidays, much warmth, and was always encouraging them along their paths. Don & Susie had the gift of hospitality and Don never met a stranger he couldn't make into a friend!
After his 2-year service in the Air Force, Don first began work at Indiana Oil Purchasing (Amoco) and soon shifted to Tuloma. In 1968, he was transferred to Chicago with a promotion to NGL Supply Manager. Don left Amoco in 1973 returning to Tulsa for NGL Supply, Inc. for a more entrepreneurial role.
