Don L Forsman Obituary
Donald Lee Forsman passed away on April 30, 2015 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 89. Don was born on August 14, 1925 in Tulsa. Raised and educated in Tulsa, he graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1943. On November 19, 1949 he married Ruby Marlow of Tulsa and they were married for 66 years. He has two sons, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Don served 50 years with the United Methodist Church as a Pastor and District Superintendent in the Oklahoma and New Mexico Conferences. He held degrees from the University of Tulsa, Perkins School of Theology and Iliff School of Theology and received a honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from McMurry University. During World War II, he served in the 8th Air Force as a ball turret gunner on a B-17 Bomber with 34 credited missions over Germany.
Don is survived by his wife Ruby Forsman. He is survived by his son Mike Forsman, Mike's wife Candy Forsman and their children Christina Forsman-Ramirez, Nathan Forsman, and Sean Forsman, and 2 great grandchildren Marissa Ramirez and Khloe Forsman. He is survived by his son Ron Forsman and his children Eric Forsman, Philip Forsman, and Clayton Forsman. He was predeceased by his parents Rudolph Erick Forsman and Frances Marion Rogers-Forsman. He was also predeceased by his brother Roy Eugene Forsman.
A memorial service will be held on Monday May 4, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, 1301 S. Boston Ave, Tulsa, OK 74119. His place of interment will be the Columbarium at the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. All arrangements are being handled by Moore's Rosewood Chapel, Tulsa OK.
