Donald Lee Goins, 90, of Tulsa, departed from this life on January 9, 2024. He was born October 2, 1933 in Spavinaw, Oklahoma.

Donald was the son of the late Tom Goins and Lorene Stone-Goins.

He is survived by his wife of 60+ years, Emma Lee; sons Pat (Kristine) Goins; Donald Jr. (Theresa) Goins; and daughter Kathy (Gus) Bohannan; and foster daughter Gretchen (Kevin) Murphy and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Sue Goins.

Professionally, Don was a successful business owner and started Goins Building Supply in 1964 in Jay Oklahoma, a business he later expanded to Grove Oklahoma in 1973. At the same time, Don built many homes in Grove. In fact, street names in Grove still bear the Goins name.

Don and Emma eventually sold the Grove business and moved to Tulsa where Don began a new career in life insurance. After many years of success in this business, he retired in 2004.

Don served his country from 1953 to 1961 and was a sergeant in the United States Air Force. In his free time, he was an avid woodworker with a kind heart and a gentle spirit. Above all else he was a man of faith and was a member of Park Christian Church for 41 years.

In lieu of a funeral, the family said their private goodbye to Don earlier this week. They thank you for all your prayers.
