Don J. Haymes died peacefully at home on August 11, 2021 in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 87.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Marsha of fifty nine years and his adopted daughter Christina Haymes. He is survived by his brother David of Broken Arrow, OK, sons Kevin and Eric of Berlin, Germany and Los Angeles, CA and Grandson, Joseph Haymes.

Don was born on December 24, 1933 in Cushing, OK to Harold W. and Eleanor G. Haymes. He graduated from Cushing High School in 1950 and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. He married Marsha Haymes in 1960 after meeting at the First Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK. In 1963 they settled in Ponca City, OK where Don worked as a tax analyst at Conoco for more than thirty years. Over more than fifty nine years the couple welcomed three children as well as countless friends and pets into their home.

Don was a son of a Baptist preacher. He was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. Don enjoyed painting, boating and life's simple pleasures like ice cream or all manner of baked sweets. Most of all he liked being a loving father, brother, uncle and husband. Don ministered to the homeless, the incarcerated and provided wise counsel to younger members of his church and community. His unfailing kindness and good naturedness towards everyone, even in the difficult times of his last month on earth live as a testimony to his unwavering Christian faith.

The family would like to thank Don and Marsha's many friends for their generous outpouring of prayers, love and invaluable support during the last months of their life.
