Donald Ray Henderson, 89, of Tulsa, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Heather Ridge Assisted Living Center. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Park Chapel in Tulsa under direction of Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

Don was born November 22, 1927 in Dearing, Kansas; the son of Harley Henderson and Nettie Mae Cottle. They moved to the Jennings, Oklahoma area when Don was a young child.

In July of 1951, he was united in marriage to Helen Arletta Willcox and they made their home in Tulsa where he worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company/AT&T over 35 years before retiring.

Don Henderson was a member of Sheridan Road Baptist Church of Tulsa for more than 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Arietta Henderson. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Nettie Mae Henderson; one sister, Thelma Osborn; and 2 brothers, Harold Henderson and Wayne Henderson. He is survived by two daughters, Terrie Hoover and spouse Craig of Tulsa, OK and Cheryl Speck and spouse Mark of Allen, TX. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kendal Speck of Allen, TX, Hayley Robbins and spouse Jacob of McKinney, TX and Amon Speck of Allen, TX.

Visitation 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK.
