Donald Ray Walker was born January 30, 1927 to Eunice Virginia Walker and Ezra Clifford Walker in Cold Springs, Missouri. He attended and received his BS degree in Accounting from Oklahoma School of Accountancy. He worked for the accounting firm of Ross Brothers & Montgomery in Tulsa, lived and worked for DeAriggo Brothers in San Jose California for five years before returning to Tulsa to where he worked for many years at Sooner Federal Savings & Loan Company from which he retired in 1990.
Served in WWII in the Pacific aboard the USS Belleau Wood aircraft carrier as plane captain. He was in 12 major battles and the ship was hit with a Japanese kamikaze plane, but personnel aboard the ship were able to save the ship. These battles were all over the Southern Pacific.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, June Halliburton Walker; daughter and her husband, Kathie and David Wattenbarger; son and his wife, Clifford Samuel Walker and Lori; daughter and her husband, Angela (Angel) Michelle Gabal and, Roger; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and they returned that love to their Pop-Pop; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be 1-3PM, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 23, 2017 at Will Rogers United Methodist Church, 1138 S.
