Obituary
Donivan "Don" Vere Gourley, 71, retired president of Gourley's Archery Manufacturing Co. here, died Monday, November 27, 1978. He resided at 1327 S. Urbana Ave. His parents were David Gourley and Jewel Henderson Gourley on March 16, 1907.
A native of Phillipsburg, MO, Don retired from his manufacturing company in 1975, after owning it for 35 years. Previously, he was an accountant for several oil companies.
A Tulsa resident since 1941, Don attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Layman's Church. He had won several trophies from the National Archery Association.
One of the organizers and a member of the Tulsa Archery Association, Don held offices in both the Tulsa and Oklahoma State archery associations.
Don is survived by his wife Lucille Weston Gourley, of the home; and cousin, W. C. Henderson of Tulsa, OK.
Service is 10 A.M., Wednesday, November 29, 1978 at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 1908 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK, with a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville, OK.
