Donna Joye (Carson) Wright, 77, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was surrounded by several members of her loving family. Donna was born July 11, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Almon Monroe Carson and Margaret LaVerne (Brown) Carson. She graduated from Central High School and then graduated from William Woods College. She married James Edward Wright on December 22, 1960 and he preceded her death in 1993. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, her husband, and her brother, Samuel "Sammy" Carson.

She was a longtime member of Eastside Christian Church and an active volunteer with Campfire Girls, Bluebirds and the Church Youth Group. After being a devoted stay at home mom, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 20 years and retired from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine-Tulsa. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a talented seamstress, loved to travel the world and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her companion of 20 years, William Simonton; her siblings, Almon "Monty" Carson Jr., Sandra (Carson) Shedeck; her 3 children, Jamie (Wright) Schoch, Lisa (Wright) Rector, and Tricia (Wright) Casteel; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Rector, Megan Schoch, Brooke Casteel, Karyn (Schoch) Andersen and Alyson (Schoch) Carlsen; and 3 great-grandchildren, Aiden Andersen, Owen Andersen and Logan Carlsen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel -- 5111 S Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma. We ask that in lieu of flowers, you donate to your favorite charity/organization in honor of Donna. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
