Obituary

Donnie Gene Jackson, 75, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born in Durant, Oklahoma, Donnie lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his career, and his passions.

Donnie began his journey in service to his country as a proud member of the United States Army. His military career took him and his beloved wife, Betty Jackson, to various locations, with Betty always by his side as they embraced the adventures of military life together. After completing his service, Donnie transitioned into a successful career at Sun Oil Refinery. There, he led a crew with skill and determination until his well-earned retirement.

Family was at the heart of Donnie's life. He was predeceased by his cherished wife Betty; their son Jeremy Jackson; his brother, Norman Jackson, sister Linda Radican; and his parents, Violet and Jess Jackson. He is survived by his devoted daughter Amy Holmes; grandchildren Alexis Roberts and her husband Garrett Roberts of Jenks, and Blake Holmes of Bixby; and great-grandson Callum Roberts. Donnie also leaves behind his loving sisters Carolyn Dickerson and her husband Phil Dickerson. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces & nephews, as well as numerous cousins.

Donnie's love for life extended beyond work and family. He found joy in deer hunting and could often be found at the casino enjoying games with a cold beer in hand. Music brought him happiness too-he loved attending concerts whenever he could. Above all else, Donnie treasured time spent with Amy, Alexis, Blake, and the rest of his family. Whether cheering on his children or grandchildren at their events or simply sharing quiet moments together, Donnie's presence was a source of strength and love for those around him.

Known for being kind yet ornery in the best way possible, Donnie had a quiet demeanor but an undeniable passion for those he cared about most. His fierce love for family was evident in every aspect of his life.

May the memory of Donnie Gene Jackson bring comfort to all who knew him. His legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
