Doris Stegeman passed away on December 21, 2017 at the age of 95. Born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma July 21, 1922 to Anna Elizabeth Waltman and Jerry Waltman. She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated from Central High School. Upon graduation, she married Wesley Eugene Stegeman. They had 2 daughters, Beverly and Barbara Stegeman. and moved to Palo Alto, California where they lived for 6 years.

After returning to Tulsa, Doris began to work in the record room at the Springer Clinic. She worked there for 25 years and became the manager of the department of records.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 69 years and her grandson Ronnie Cummins. She is survived by her daughter and husband Beverly and Ron Cummins and her other daughter, Barbara and James Staley. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren Rhonda Neal, and Ryan and Darren Staley, as well as her 6 great grandchildren, Emily, Aubrey, Benjamin and John Neil and Griffin and Phoenix Staley.

Doris lived a long and well-rounded life. She was known for hard work and perseverance, but she also was a fun companion at play. She enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling with her lifelong companion Wes. Doris was grateful for the good care she received at St. Francis Hospital and especially by the caring hospice team that cared for her at the end. The extended family is extremely grateful to Ron and Beverly Cummins who kept Doris at her home until her death. Caring for her and watching over her with love, until she made her peaceful transition.
