Dorothy Cathryn Burgess , age 104 , peacefully passed away on Wednesday evening, September 17th at her apartment. She was born on June 1,1921, in Gentry Arkansas to Oscar and Eva Stoner. Thereafter moving to Tulsa where she lived the rest of her life.

Dorothy enjoyed a long life highlighted by her love of family, traveling, collecting owls and many friends. She was always ready to visit family and join in activities with friends. She was a member of Fellowship Lutheran Church, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Daughters of the Nile, Daughters of American Revolution, and sang in several choirs . She especially enjoyed performing the Lord's prayer in Indian sign language.

She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Burgess III, brother Oscar E. Stoner and his wife, Elizabeth M Stoner.

She is survived by her son, William H. Burgess IV and wife Janet, Grandsons William H. Burgess V, and wife Stacy, Daniel B. Burgess and wife Debbie, Stephen E. Burgess and wife Kim. Great Grandchildren Shelby (Burgess) Cossu and husband Drew, Claire Burgess, Ashley (Burgess) Fox and husband Jordan, Alara Burgess, Caleb Burgess and wife Emily, Chloe Burgess, William H. Burgess VI, and many Nieces and Nephews and their families.

Visitation is 5-7 PM, Friday, September 26th, 2025 at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home, 9350 E. 51 st , Tulsa, OK, 74133. Funeral Service will be held at Fellowship Lutheran Church 6727 S. Sheridan Rd., Tulsa OK 74133, 10:30AM, Saturday, September 27th, 2025. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
