Dorothy was born March 23, 1934 in Phoenix, Arizona to Wylma Browning Skinner and Blaine F. Skinner. She died April 23, 2019 in Tulsa, OK. She grew up in Oklahoma City, then attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
She was a member of Linwood Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. In 1955, she married William B. Elliott. They had three children: William Christopher, Susan Elizabeth and Nancy Jane Elliott.
Dottie served as vice-president for Cub Scouting for Indian Nations Council. She was a member of the National Cub Scout Committee. She was an editorial writer for the Boy Scouts of America for several years. She and her husband served on the faculty of Cub Scout leader conferences at Philmont Scout Ranch for ten summers. She attended the first Cub Scout leaders Wood Badge course in Alabama and later was a staff member of several regional Wood Badge courses.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist church since 1971. She served as a substitute Sunday School teacher, vice-president of UMW, circle chairman and Bible study leader.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death. She is survived by children: Chris and Patti Elliott, Tulsa; Susan Elizabeth Elliott, Tulsa; Nancy Jane and Joe Farrell of Colorado Springs, CO: grandchildren Dein and Ashley Elliott, Sand Springs; Jessica Elliott and Kirt Kaminski, Boston, MA; Tim Farrell and Melissa Santiago, Pueblo, CO; Connor Farrell, Megan Farrell, and Michael Farrell of Colorado Springs, CO: great-grandchildren Eli Elliott, Vanessa Wyrick, Sailor Santiago-Farrell and Jasey Farrell.
A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 30th, 2019 following private interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
