Obituary

Dorothy Ann Golden Kisselburg was born in Tulsa,OK. on September 25,1932. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 30, 2017 at the age of 84 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of almost 62 years, Bill Kisselburg, daughter, Vanessa Nowland of Stillwater, Ok and son, Kyle Kisselburg of Dallas, TX. as well as numerous other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Stephanie Knutson of Tulsa, son-in-law, Keith Knutson, her parents and three siblings.

A life-long Tulsa native, Dorothy (nicknamed Dot) was the youngest of four children born to Gordon and Minta Golden. After graduating from Central High School, she began her professional career working for an insurance company in the Philtower Building in downtown Tulsa. She married Billy Haynes Kisselburg on June 24, 1955 at Easton Heights Baptist church and they had three children. She would later work for JC Penney until she retired. By far, her greatest love in life was her family. She loved her home and always having her family around her.

For many years she and Bill along with their close group of friends enjoyed Saturday nights on the dance floor at the Candlewood Club After its closing they moved the party to the Petroleum Club in downtown Tulsa. Dorothy loved music from big band sounds to hymns to country and played the piano most of her life. She also enjoyed shopping, a good haircut, all sweets and desserts and a great black dress.

Dorothy and her family were members of Garnett Road Baptist Church for many years where she taught children's Sunday School. Several years ago she and Bill joined Asbury United Methodist Church where she remained a member.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd from 4-8 pm at Moore Southlawn Chapel.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 4th at 12:30 pm at Floral Haven Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2pm at Moore Southlawn Chapel.
Dorothy will be greatly missed.
