Dorothy Louise (Poe) Ford departed this life on December 24, 2022 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on June 17, 1946 in Diamond, Missouri, the first child of the Troy Henry and Imogene Louise (McCoy) Poe. She married David Carlisle Ford, Jr. on July 23, 1966 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. To this union were born four children, David Charles, Troy Dwayne, Christopher Allen, and Joy Louise.
Dorothy worked for Robinson Glass as a bookkeeper. She thrived on the details of the job. She was a conscientious worker who was careful to ensure the job was done accurately. She retired in 2016 after 29 years.
Dorothy served as a Girl Scout leader for over ten years. She traveled with her troop across the country from Florida to Hawaii. These years with her girls were times she talked about the rest of her life.
Dorothy carried her love of Christ through all aspects of her life. She gave of herself to the Girl Scouts and expressed her joy of Christ through quilting. Her journey of faith led her through many different Christian churches. Most recently she attended Christview Christian Church in Tulsa.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Imogene Poe, her brothers Donnie and Eugene Poe, and her sister Peggy Littlefield.
She is survived by her husband, David and their four children David Charles Ford, Troy Dwayne and his wife Sheila Ford, Christopher Allen Ford, and Joy Louise Warnock; three granddaughters Laura Ashley Ford, Rachel (Ellie) Nicole Ford, and Ava Lynn Ford.
Visitation will be held on December 29, 2022 from 5-7 PM at Moore Funeral Home the Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held on December 30, 2022 at 1 PM also at the Rosewood Chapel. Dorothy's nephew Rev. Duane Littlefield will officiate.
