Dorothy "Dottie" S. Wood Mishler
1921-2021
Dorothy was born September 9, 1921 to William and Velma Slack in Wichita, Ks and passed away July 27, 2021, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 44 days short of becoming a centenarian. Dottie was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, graduated Southwest High School and attended William Woods College. Upon marrying Chalmers R. Wood, Jr., her high school sweetheart, they eventually moved to Tulsa. Dottie was very active in many philanthropic organizations and loved serving the Tulsa community. She served as President of the Tulsa Opera Guild Board and formed the Junior Opera Guild. She was a member of the Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Garden Club and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority; an avid bridge club member and enjoyed fun times with her "Lunch Bunch Friends". Dorothy was proceeded in death by her husband and father of her children, Chalmers R. Wood, Jr., husband Donald L. Mishler, M.D., and sister Jody McLernon. She is survived by Jeanette Wood Clark (Jerry), Dr. Chalmers R. Wood III (Donna), grandchildren Candace Wood Clark Moore (Evan), Chalmers R. Wood IV (Kathryn), William Trenton Wood (Natalie), Nicholas Harrison Wood (Jaime), two great-grandchildren and niece Barbara McLernon O'Bannon. Services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Friday July 30, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to: American Macular Degeneration Foundation or the Dean Robertson Society at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Mom you will be missed, rest in peace. Forever our Love, Your Family.
