Dustin Derek Blankenship, a security officer and a resident of Jenks, Oklahoma died due to complications of leukemia on October 8th 2024 at the age of 35 .

Dustin is survived by his parents; his wife Samantha Blankenship (nee Mazuc); his son Patrick Blankenship; his grandmother Marie Cole and his grandfather Douglas Biedler. He is predeceased by his sister, Jessica. Dustin was born in Washington on January, 24th, 1989 to John Beidler and Tammy Head. He went into the service after graduating High School and joined the Army. He achieved SPC and E 04 in the 279th and the 45th divisions, and received an honorable discharge after 2012 of service.

On May 15th, 2020 Dustin married Samantha Blankenship, his old ball and chain. On January 4th, 2021 he and his wife Samantha welcomed his biggest pride and joy, his son, Patrick Blankenship.

Dustin was a person who enjoyed caring for others, he would always put others before himself even when he was in the hospital. He loved working as a security officer, he considered everyone he worked with as family. He also loved riding his Harley and enjoying his "wind therapy" and doing charity work for events like Toys for Tots. Dustin also enjoyed being a teacher to the younger generation, he worked for Tulsa Public Schools and enjoyed helping his nieces and nephews. Dustin also enjoyed being a family man. He always had a sense of humor to make anyone laugh. Always there for veterans especially. He even hung a 40 foot American flag in his home to display the love he had for his country. Dustin may have passed away and gone to paradise but he will carry on through not only his family and son but his fellow brothers.

Funeral Services are scheduled for October 24th 2024 at 10am at Moore Funeral Home-Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK and then will travel to Fort Gibson National Cemetery to do his honors ceremony. We are accepting donations of patriotic items and anything Army related to be displayed at the time of service and retrieved after the service.
