LaVerne Hines, 72, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013. She was born January 30, 1941 in Poteau, to Lewis and Sallie Hurley. She was known for her extreme generosity of spirit and willingness to help anyone in need of assistance. She was a member of Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church, the ?Mermaids? group of the Red Hat Society, and Tops 65. She also enjoyed working at the Tulsa Flea Market, swimming at the YMCA, spending time with her grandchildren and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Hines; parents; brother, Francis Hurley; sister, Sherleene Hines and nephew, William Brown Jr. She is survived by a stepson, John Hines; stepdaughters Jacqueline Haun; Cynthia (Thomas) Coffey; Rita (Jim) Hilton; grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Sarah, Meghan, Brenna and Mary; great-granddaughter, Bria; brother, William (Joleta) Brown; sister, Martha (Jack) Rutledge; sister-in-law, Beverly Hurley; nephews Jackie Lynn, Judd (Danni), Lloyd Wayne, Sean, Thomas and Buddy; niece, Rhondina; four grand-nephews; and six grand-nieces. Visitation, Thursday, February 28, 2013, 6-8 p.m., Moore?s Eastlawn Chapel, service, Friday, March 1, 2013, 1:00 p.m., Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church, interment Rose Hill Cemetery.
