Obituary

E. L. "Eb" St. Clair, 89, former resident of Tulsa, OK, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 1, 2019, in Allen, TX. He was born on Thursday, April 17, 1930, in Dunbar, WV, to Hubert St. Clair and Alma (Eblin) St. Clair. Eb married the love of his life, Nancy Lee (Ferguson) St. Clair, in Charleston, WV, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage, sharing a life filled with family and friends, service to their church and community, and many adventures together. He was District Manager of Sales for Western & Southern Life Insurance Company, and upon retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, often getting his grandchildren involved. Eb was a member of Memorial Drive Methodist Church, and served on the board and in other various capacities, for over 40 years. He was also instrumental in leading the effort to rebuild the church sanctuary, after a devastating tornado. Eb was a kind, benevolent man and a dedicated volunteer; including, over 20 years at Restore Hope, 15 years at Red Cross, and 15 years doing taxes for those who could not afford it. He was known for always having candy in his pockets to share with children, and loved playing bridge and dominoes with church friends. Eb enjoyed square dancing, old-time gospel and country music, and he especially loved Nancy's nightly homemade treats of fudge or a chocolate sundae. He had a passion for sports; first, as a student athlete, then with his children, and he always had a game on TV. Time spent with family was particularly important to Eb, and he made beautiful memories by taking his family on camping and fishing trips. Eb loved to sit outdoors; usually, by his Koi pond, with a dog by his side. He is survived by his wife; son, Stephen St. Clair and wife, Karen. Granddaughters, Stephanie Baker and husband Justin, Amanda St. Clair, Ashley Krafts and husband, Austin. Great-granddaughters, Jocelyn St. Clair, Victoria Baker, and Taylor Baker. Daughter, Sandra St. Clair Barron and husband, Brent. Grandchildren, Sarah Barron and Micah Barron. Son, David St. Clair and wife, Jamie. Granddaughters, Grace St. Clair Gettert and husband Christopher Gettert, Corinne St. Clair and wife, Carlye St. Clair. Great-grandchildren, Owen Gettert, and Connor Gettert; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eb will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
