Earl Lyon, 79, of 6903 E. Ute St., Tulsa, OK, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 5, 1977. He died at Tulsa Christian Nursing Home, Tulsa, OK, of respiratory failure. Earl was born in Freeman, MO, on July 5, 1897, to John Grandville Lyon and Mary Catherine (Miller) Lyon. He was married to the love of his life, Alvina Helen Peters, on June 9, 1954, until her death in 1993. Earl was proud to have served as a Private in the United States Army in WWII, and worked for oil and gas pipelines. He was survived by his wife; 1 brother; and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ivy Lee (Lyon) Showalter; 2 brothers, George Morris Lyons and Carl Lyon; nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. Earl will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
