Edela M. Henderson, 56, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 20, 1977, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK. She was born in Newkirk, Kay county, OK, on Saturday, August 21, 1920, to Clint A. Hughes and Nellie Mae (Adamske) Hughes. In 1938, Edela married the love of her life, Hiram C. Henderson. She was a member of Sheridan Road Christian Church, and A.P.L.A. Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a nurse assistant at St. Francis Hospital. Edela is survived by her husband, H. C. "Buck" Henderson; 2 sons, H. C. "Buzz" Henderson of Dalhart, TX, and Bert W. Henderson if Tulsa, OK; 2 daughters, Barbara Dexter of Phoenix, AZ, and Betty Johnson of Tulsa, OK; 12 grandchildren; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clint A. Hughes of Cleveland, OK; 2 sisters, Doris Pilkington of Locust Grove, OK, and Nelma Byers of Seattle, WA; 2 brothers, Clint L. Hughes of Ponca City, OK, and Wayne Hughes of Cleveland, OK; nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. Edela will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
