Edla Maxine (Brashear) Dale
October 8, 1923 - February 19, 2022
Maxine (beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother) was born in Hossier, Kansas, to Earl and Addie (Bell) Brashear and passed away February 19, 2022, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Maxine was raised in and around Cedar Vale, Kansas, where she met and married her husband, Donald W. Dale, Sr., on March 27, 1940. They lived on the family ranch (south of Cedar Vale), where they raised their two children, Donald, Jr, and Margaret.
Maxine loved helping around the ranch by tending her large gardens of vegetables and flowers. She was also instrumental in tending to the numerous animals and crops.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don of 61 years, great-granddaughter Vanessa Dale, brother William Brashear, brothers-in-law Loren Laurie and Forest Neer, sister-in-law Gladys Brashear.
She is survived by her children: Don Jr. (Sheryl) of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Margaret Hudgins of Searcy, Arkansas; grandchildren, Carla Leggett of Searcy, Arkansas, Jim Hudgins of Gruver, Texas, Carolyn Dale Martinez (Walter) of San Antonio, Texas, Ronald Dale (Janie) of Katy, Texas, Jennifer Wright (Douglas) of Choctaw, Oklahoma; 4 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Hazel Laurie and Marjorie Neer of Coffeyville, Kansas. Many other family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cedar Vale with Pastor Caleb Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Vale Cemetery in Cedar Vale, Kansas.
