Pauline (Work) Morton, 103, of Tulsa, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023.
Born July 5, 1919, to Bertie Olif and Myrtle Work (Harrod) in Denison, Texas.
After attending Tulsa Central High School, she was a waitress at the Charmont Hotel Tea Room in Downtown Tulsa before managing the children's shoe department in Vandevers department store. And later had a career in culinary arts at the Lemley Campus Tulsa Vo-Tech School. In 2018 she was honored by the Tulsa Technology Center with their Distinguished Service Award.
Pauline met Howard Morton and they were married on June 6, 1951, and enjoyed 27 years together before his death in 1979.
She was a founding member of White City Baptist Church. Pauline was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority and enjoyed the fellowship and serving her community.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Howard Morton, her parents, her sisters Willough Bee Franklin and Geraldine Dennis. She is survived by her son Alan Morton and wife Kathy of Tulsa, daughter Judy Blackwell of Claremore, grandsons Austin Morton and Ian Morton, granddaughters Tracy Mootry and husband Jon, and Cindy Johnson and husband Robert, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A family graveside service was held Friday, April 21, 2023 in Hitchita, OK.
