Ed's links to Oklahoma history included his maternal grandfather, William H. Darrough, the last U.S. Marshall in Indian Territory; and his paternal grandfather, Julien C. Monnet, the founding dean of the Law School at the University of Oklahoma, of which Ed was a graduate.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie, his twin sister Gloria Nicholson and brother Burford Monnet, children Ed Jr. and wife Jimmie, and Irene Brown and husband John, grandchildren Ed III and wife Kacey, Parker and Kathryn (Tori) Monnet, and John and Marjorie Brown, and great-grandchildren Lucas and Alaina Monnet. Servant of God, well done! Rest from thy loved employ! The battle fought, the victory won, Enter thy Master's joy. A memorial service will be held in the sanctuary of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10.
