Edward (Ted) Whitcraft Price was born June 7th, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas, the second of four sons and one daughter of Bruce Phelps and Virginia Louise (Barron) Price. He passed away December 3, 2025 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Ted grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he attended local schools, graduating from Sooner High School in 1971. As a teenager, he threw newspapers and also worked as a grocery sacker and part-time cashier. He earned the Eagle Scout award in Boy Scouts.
He attended the University of Oklahoma from 1971 to 1976 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Computer Science.
He began his career with Applied Automation, Inc. (a subsidiary of Phillips Petroleum) in 1976 in the Process Control division. He met his wife Kathryn (Kitty) while on temporary assignment in Homer City, Pennsylvania. Later, he transferred to the Seismic division, which became an independent company later sold to Sercel, Inc. During this time, he and his wife relocated to Katy, Texas for 20+ years before moving back to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to be closer to their grandchildren.
Ted enjoyed being involved in church, serving as usher, treasurer, and board member at various times. With other team members, he made construction missionary trips to Mexico and Brazil.
Ted enjoyed playing a variety of sports where he was most successful playing table tennis and tennis.
Ted is survived by his wife Kathryn, (son Matthew Alan Price, his wife Susan (Susie), and their 4 children Adam, Abigail, Julia, and Elizabeth Price, and also by Ted's brothers (Barry, Alan, and Scott).
Memorial Services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145.
