Elbert W. "Pete" Evans, 64, of Tulsa, OK, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 1977, in Tulsa, OK. He was born on July 22, 1913, in Garland City, Miller County, AR, to Elbert Guy Evans and Winnifred (Cagley) Evans. Pete was proud to have served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.in WWII. He was married to Rose Mary (Wilson) Evans, and worked in security for McDonnel Douglas aircraft company. Pete was survived by his wife, Rose Mary of the home; two daughters, Suzzanne Evans of Chicago, IL, and Mrs. Melinda Belcher and husband, Ed, of Houston, TX; three sons, Donald Evans of Muscatine, IA, Kenny Evans of Hot Springs, AR, and Jimmy Evans, of the home; brother, Darrell Evans of Corpus Christi, TX; two sisters, Mrs. Margorie Moore of Alexandria, LA, and Mrs. Helen Goins of Hot Springs, AR; 4 grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
