Elinor Elizabeth Bartleson, 86, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Elinor's parents were Clarence William and Gladys Archibald Shannon. Clarence met Gladys in Florida, and the came to Oklahoma to marry and settle down (against the wishes of Glady's parents). Clarence owned a general store in the early days of Tulsa county, and they had a large family garden.

Elinor was born February 11, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the middle child of five, and the only one to be born at home. Elinor enjoyed keeping house - especially the sewing and quilting part - as well as being a mom, and she eventually retired from decades of service as the Executive Secretary to the Petro Lite Corporation.

Elinor was a life-long Christian and United Methodist. She joined St. Matthew's United Methodist Church just shy of 50 years ago and was married in that sanctuary to Gene Bartleson. Gene was a brilliant engineer and worked as an independent subcontractor for a number of companies, including NASA. Gene preceded her in death, along with her brother, Clarence "Mike" Shannon, and two sisters, Frances Tucker and Ethel Hendrix.

Elinor is survived by daughter Sheila Catterton, from Sapulpa; grandson, Dustin Summers and great-grandson, George Wickson Summers, from Mounds; sister Linda Tillman, from Collinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Two things can be said of Elinor: She loved her church and she loved her family.
