Elinor T. Verville died Monday, October 11, 2021, at the age of 101 years.

She was born to Charlotte and David Trout April 12, 1920 in Brookfield, MO, who moved the family to Chicago when Elinor was three, and a year later to Mt. Pleasant, MI, where she grew up.

Beginning college at age 16, Elinor graduated from Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, MI, with a B.A. in education and psychology, and then from the University of Wisconsin, Madison WI, with an M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology.

She married George J. Verville on December 4, 1943.

A clinical psychologist, she diagnosed and treated behavior and learning problems in children. She worked at the Kansas Receiving Home for Children, Atchison, KS; the Wisconsin Bureau of Maternal and Child Health, Madison, WI; the Child Guidance Clinic and Morton Health Center in Tulsa, OK; Central Wyoming Counseling Center, Casper, WY; the Tulsa County Child Guidance Center, and the Mayes Guidance Center, Pryor, OK.

She was also the author of five books on children's behavior problems, marriage and habits.

Elinor was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Ann Margaret, and her husband, George, to whom she was married for 70 years. She's survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Randy Thrower of Kiefer, OK, and by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Thomas and Susan Verville of Folly Beach, SC., three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held for Elinor on Monday, October 25, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at Floral Haven Cemetery (918-215-2607). Flower bouquets are permitted for her grave. Charitable contributions in Elinor's name can be made to Doctors Without Borders.
