Elizabeth Frances (Rowe) Burress passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. Bette, as she was known to all, was born to Mabel and Donald Rowe in Milton, IA on January 25, 1920.

Bette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and zest for life. She was a lifelong teacher and possessed a special gift for nurturing elementary school children.

Bette met and married the love of her life, John, in Ottumwa, Iowa while he was in pilot training for the Navy during WWII. They raised two children in Keokuk, Iowa and eventually moved to San Diego, CA to pursue their love of ocean sailing.

Following the death of her husband, Bette moved to Inverness Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she spent the remainder of her life among her many new friends. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers and employees at Inverness Village who greatly enhanced her quality of life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John and son, Wayne. She is survived by daughter, Susie Jackson and husband, Bob of Tulsa, OK and daughter-in-law, Ann Burress of Redondo Beach, CA, grandchildren, Caroline, Michael, Eric, Erin and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service for John and Bette Burress will be held 3PM, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa.
