Ella Christine Inderman was born at home on February 5,1921, in Teague
Texas to Robert Randolph Inderman and Arite Mae Harris. Ella Christine married
Paul Walter Chappell on April 24, 1946, in Texarkana, Arkansas. To this union
was born 6 children, 2 which died in infancy. In 1949 the family moved to Tulsa
where Christine resided for the next 60 years. Christine became a single parent in 1964 and raised the remaining four children while working at various retail stores. At the age of 72 she retired from Renburgs department store. Christine never drove a car but she never let that slow her down. She relied on the bus system in Tulsa and many dear friends for transportation.
Christine was a devoted mother and friend and served her Lord and Savior
through her life and service at Roselawn Missionary Baptist church.
Ella moved to her daughters home in Purcell, Oklahoma, September of
2009 where she resided for 16 months before returning to the Tulsa area in 2011.
She was a resident of The Cottage Extended Care in Tulsa and The Gardens in
Sapulpa. Ella walked into the arms of her Lord on January 17,2013, in Sapulpa,
Oklahoma, at the age of 91 years, 11 months, and 12 days. She was surrounded by
her children the hours prior to her passing.
Christine is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Shepherd of Dibble,
OK; and Paula Sue Holley and husband, Cole of Sapulpa, OK; and two sons;
Michael Austin Chappell and wife Jeanne of Oologah, OK; and John Reed
Chappell and wife Theresa of Ada, OK; Six grandchildren; Monica Ward and
husband Travis, Michael Sean Chappell and wife Jen, Shawna Foster, Anthony
Holley, Christina Shibley, and Jason Shepherd; and 12 great-grand-children. Also
sister-in-Iaws Dorthy Inderman and Dorthy Wilmoth.
Christine was preceded in death by both parents; her brother Robert Wayne
Inderman; an infant son Kenneth; an infant daughter; son-in-law, Jeff Shepherd;
and grandaughter, Leanne Shepherd.
