Obituary

ELLA MAE HENDRIX (MAZIE) 83, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 in Tulsa,

Oklahoma. Born in Dexter, Missouri on December 6, 1929 to Gladys (Carpenter)

and Thomas J. (Tom) Edwards.



She was one of seven children. She married Harold (John) Hendrix in St. Louis in

1948. They lived in several states before settling in Montrose, Illinois until they

moved to Tulsa in 1978.



Mae was an avid crocheter, knitter and seamstress. She always had huge gardens

and canned fruits and vegetables for the family. Mom loved hunting night crawlers

for fishing and picking poke. Her favorite song was John Anderson?s ?Just A

Swingin?



Mae is survived by her children, Rheta Carey and husband, Charles of Tulsa,

Oklahoma John Hendrix and wife, Alice of Woodbury, Illinois, Donna Fast and

husband, Greg of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Mark Hendrix and wife, Sylvia of

San Jose, California. One sister, Shirley Casper of St. Louis, Missouri.

Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Tom Edwards; her husband,

John Hendrix; four sisters, Edna Galbreath; Emaline Selvey; Evelyn Stokes, Marie

Edwards and brother, Charles Edwards.
