Obituary

Ella "Dea" Miller McCaslin Stafford,101, of Tulsa, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born April 22, 1922 in Chandler, OK to Charles R. and Elva Stinson Miller. She graduated in 1940 from Chandler High School. In her early years Dea was a switchboard operator for the local telephone company. She worked many years as researcher for the credit bureau until her retirement. Dea loved to travel, crochet, make crafts and visit with friends and family. She had several friends that once they got on the phone and you tried to call her, good luck. Phone calls to her close nieces would sometimes last for hours. She loved her little dogs, Poco and Phoebe. Dea was a long time member of Sheridan Road Baptist Church in Tulsa. Dea married the love of her life, James Loyd McCaslin at the age of 23 on May 13, 1945. They remained married until his death in 1978. She later married Orvel Stafford in 1984 until his death in 1991.

Dea was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Elmo Aubrey and wife Alberta, Laython Miller, Kenneth Erwin and wife, Virginia Miller, Charles Raymond, Jr. and wife, Wilma Miller and George Lee and wife, Oleta Miller and her very special friend, Dean Bowden.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews , all of whom loved Aunt Dea very much.
