Ellwyn L. (E. L.) Simpson, 83, was born December 6, 1932 in Tulsa, OK. E. L. went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 29, 2016. E. L. is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home; his daughter, Anita Simpson; son, Gary; four grandchildren, Captain Andrew Simpson, Tulsa fireman and his wife Kimberly, Sundi Simpson McDaniel and her husband Myron, Gary W. Simpson and Mandy Simpson; four great grandchildren, Madison Simpson, Colleen Simpson, Evan Simpson and Sommer McDaniel. Also E. L. is survived by his brother Gene and his wife Dolly of Sperry, OK, and a sister Joyce Warren of Owasso. Also two step sons Jeff Furr and his wife Tracey of Tulsa and Jim Furr of Chicago, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews. E. L. gave 37 and a half years of dedicated service to the Tulsa Fire Department. He was district fire chief for 9 years from 1985 to his retirement in 1994.
