Elwood James Henry

Elwood Henry, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away on June 18, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Born on May 11, 1941, in Maurice, Louisiana.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Henry; his children, Julianna Helt (Steve), Donna Taldo (Dan), and Craig Henry (Jennifer); eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Orelia Henry; his siblings, Florence, Joyce, Louanna, and Eldridge Henry; and two grandchildren.
A Catholic, Elwood was an active member of his church community and a proud recipient of the Catholic Pelican Award, recognizing his lifelong commitment to faith and service. He graduated from Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Louisiana, and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
Elwood built a strong professional career, working with dedication at American Airlines for 31 years and later at Pavestone, where he was named Employee of the Year. His commitment to service extended into his community, where he volunteered with the Cub Scouts, local soccer club, lions club and band patrons. He was also appointed to the Owasso Planning Commission by the Mayor of Owasso, reflecting his passion for civic involvement.
In retirement, Elwood enjoyed life's simple pleasures-bowling with friends, woodworking in his shop, and taking memorable Caribbean cruises.
Graveside services will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery on Monday, June 23, at 10:00 a.m.
Elwood will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his unwavering devotion, kindness, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
