Erle Wilbert Adams left this earthly world on February 4, 2019. He was born May 7, 1918 to Robert Erle Adams and Stella Marie Patton in Nash, Oklahoma. He had an older sister, Roberta born in 1917. Erle's brother Charles was born in September 1920 and his brother John Quincy was born in 1924. Erle worked at his parents' grocery store in Lamont, Oklahoma where one day he sighted a very pretty girl who would later become his wife, Mary Margaret Santee.
Erle and Mary Margaret were wed on March 8, 1942 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Erle attended Oklahoma State A and M College graduating with a Commerce Degree in 1942.
Erle served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1944. Upon returning to Oklahoma he and Mary Margaret (MM) settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he worked at Flint Steel Corporation until full retirement in 1983.
Erle and MM had three children, Michael Kent Adams, Mary Lynn Adams and Ann Meredith Adams. They were blessed with 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and 8 nieces and nephews. He and MM enjoyed a very full life that included family gatherings and travel that leaves all survivors smiling with many wonderful memories.
Erle had a witty sense of humor that brought life to many gatherings that along with his thoughtful and encouraging words will make him dearly missed.
Viewing will be Friday, February 8, 2019, 9am-12noon at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held 2pm, Friday, February 8, 2019 at Memorial Park Chapel, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145.
