Ethel Hope Royster, of Owasso, OK and former Ponca City resident,
went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 7, 2023. She graced this world for 97 years and 11 months. Ethel was born in Lela, OK, on Tuesday, September 22, 1925, to Earl J. Chadwick and Demie (Gentry) Chadwick. Ethel was a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes, beautiful, big smile, and
contagious laugh. She loved the Lord and was a previous active
member of Garnett Road Baptist Church. She met the love of her life,
Glen Royster and they were married on Saturday, August 28, 1943, during which time Glen served in WWII. After the war, they moved to Ponca City where they raised their family. They were transferred to Tulsa, in 1969. Ethel was very creative and artistic, and enjoyed ceramics, oil painting, quilting, and macrame. She also was an excellent seamstress, and was known for her green thumb with flowers. In later years she loved working jigsaw puzzles and games on her iPad. Ethel loved hosting big dinners and family get togethers. She was a stickler for organization and was a fastidious housekeeper. Ethel's memory lives on through her son, Ron Royster of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Joyce Royster Ketcher of Ponca City, OK; 3 amazing grandchildren, Kimberly Meloy and husband, Joe, Brandon Ketcher and wife Kasi, and Kory Sokolosky and husband, Chevis; and 8 awesome great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 51 years, Glen R. Royster; grandson, Bradley Royster; son-in-law, Stan Ketcher; and 4 brothers. To celebrate our mother's life, a family graveside service with Pastor Stephen Johnson, First Christian Church, Ponca City officiating will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK
